Heartland Health Featured on Animal Planet Show Monsters Inside Me

December 18, 2013

St. Joseph, Mo. — Monsters Inside Me, a television show airing on the Animal Planet network, retells the real-life harrowing stories of people infected by deadly parasites as doctors and scientists unravel their cases to seek a cure.

On December 18, 2013, the show featured the story of Wade Latham and his health journey, along with the diagnosis and care provided by Scott Folk, MD, medical director of adult infectious diseases.

Mr. Latham’s story was one of three highlighted on the broadcast and described how he developed a potentially life-threatening parasite after ingesting under cooked or raw crayfish while on a float trip in southern Missouri.

The video, along with comments from Dr. Folk, may be viewed at https://mymosaiclifecare.org/monstersinsideme/.
