myMosaic Portal Now on Apple’s Health App
Mosaic Life Care was the first health-care organization in Missouri to sign on to be part of the testing phase for Apple®’s updated Health Records section within the iPhone® Health app. Users can now connect their medical information from multiple health-care organizations in one place and receive notifications when their records have been updated. Thursday, Apple announced it was ready for users to take advantage of this new feature – simply by updating their iOS software on their iPhone.
The new Health Records feature now has nearly 40 health organizations participating; locally, Cerner’s employee clinic, Truman Medical Center and Shawnee Mission Medical Center are also included. Setup is easy once your iPhone has been updated to iOS version 11.3. The Health app is already included on your iPhone, simply open the app, go to the Health Records section, search for Mosaic Life Care and log in using your myMosaic Portal username and password. If you don’t already have a myMosaic Portal account, you can create one in the Health app (Medical Record Number [MRN] is required) or by visiting mymosaiclifecare.org/portal. A portal account tied to your MRN is required.
Adding the new health records feature makes it easy to access read-only information from your health records from any participating health system you connect. Information is arranged by date and includes: allergies, conditions, immunizations, labs, medications, procedures and vitals. While this is a great resource, it does not replace our myMosaicPortal app. Information in the Health app is read-only whereas Mosaic’s portal app offers interactive features such as: prescription refill requests, direct messaging with care teams, online scheduling, virtual house calls, appointment reminders and health reminders. To download Mosaic’s portal app, go to the app store and search for myMosaicPortal – available on iPhones and Androids.
