Dr. McWhirter is as a hospitalist for Mosaic Life Care and focuses on internal medicine. He is certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine.

“I enjoy meeting people from a variety of different backgrounds,” says Dr. McWhirter. “It’s good to work together to try and create a plan that will best suit each individual patient.”

Dr. McWhirter earned a bachelor’s in biology from the University of Nebraska in Lincoln, Neb. He went on to earn his medical degree from Des Moines University in Des Moines, Iowa. He completed his internal medicine residency at Henry Ford Macomb Hospital in Clinton Township, Mich.

Now, as a hospitalist, Dr. McWhirter cares for our hospitalized patients. He typically treats patients with cardiovascular and pulmonary issues, as well as infectious diseases.
