Adult Infectious Diseases is an integral part of Heartland Regional Medical Center. Dr. Scott Folk has been the Medical Director of Adult Infectious Diseases since it's inception in 1998 providing comprehensive evaluation and management of the following:
- Skin & soft tissue infections
- Bone & joint infections
- Postoperative wound infections
- Diabetic wound infections
- Tickborne illnesses
- Fever evaluations
Adult Infectious Diseases provides consultative services for patients when another physician refers them, usually the primary care physician. If a patient does not have a primary care physician, Dr. Folk may see the patient on a case-by-case basis. Patients must be 13 years of age or older. Dr. Folk is not a primary care physician and does not admit patients to the hospital.
Dr. Folk is board-certified in Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases, although he limits his practice to Infectious Diseases of adults. He was selected by his peers to be included in "The Best Doctors in America".
