Body lice


Overview

Body lice are most common in crowded, unhygienic conditions, such as refugee camps and homeless shelters. They may move back and forth between clothes or bedding and humans.

Symptoms

Symptoms include itchy bites, often around the waist, groin, and armpits.

Treatments

Body lice are treated with certain medicated lotions, as well as washing any contaminated items in very hot, soapy water.
