Glomerulonephritis


Overview

Glomerulonephritis can occur suddenly or come on gradually. It can occur on its own or be caused by another disease, such as diabetes.

Symptoms

Symptoms include pink or foamy urine, high blood pressure, and swelling in the face and legs.

Treatments

Treatment includes medication to treat high blood pressure or the underlying cause. Rarely, transplant or mechanical blood filtering (dialysis) is done.
