Olecranon bursitis

Overview

With olecranon bursitis, the small sac of fluid on the tip of the elbow (olecranon bursa) is inflamed.

Symptoms

Discomfort, swelling, and pain when moving the elbow are some symptoms.

Treatments

Treatments include rest, ice, medications, and sometimes drainage and injection with a corticosteroid to reduce inflammation.
