Being diagnosed with cancer can be confusing, scary, stressful, complicated and a number of other things. At Mosaic Life Care, our goal is to take away as many of the challenges as possible. We are here to support you and your family every step of the way. From your first appointment through your survivorship, we offer support groups, financial assistance, care coordination and a team of experts to answer your questions and eliminate any concerns.

The following information will help you begin your cancer-care journey.

Make an Appointment

Call us at (816) 271-1301 to make an appointment. You don’t have to have any special connections to reach out to us, just give us a call for any of your cancer-care needs. Learn more about setting up and preparing for an appointment.

Check Your Insurance

It’s important to check with your insurance provider to make sure they provide coverage at Mosaic Life Care. If you don’t have insurance or have concerns about your coverage, please call (816) 271-1301 and ask to speak with a financial counselor.

Insurance companies need to confirm that the care you are receiving is medically necessary so we have caregivers available to help through the prior-authorization process. Insurance coverage may vary depending on the individual plan. Mosaic Life Care accepts most major insurance providers and we do accept Medicaid and Medicare.

Prepare for Your Visit

When you call to schedule your appointment, you will receive information about what to expect and what you need to bring with you. Before you leave for your appointment, make sure you understand the driving directions. If you have questions about directions, give us a call. Parking is available right in front of the Cancer Center.

We understand that your initial diagnosis can often be numbing, so questions may not come up right away. We recommend taking some time to think about your diagnosis and make a list of questions that you have so our caregivers can help you find answers. We encourage you to have a family member or friend come with you to your appointment, if you can. Many patients find it helpful to have a trusted loved one present to help listen, take notes and most importantly, to provide additional support.

Get to Know Your Team

At your first visit, you will have an opportunity to start meeting members of your care team. Doctors, nurses, social workers and a number of other expertly trained caregivers will work together with you to develop a customized cancer-treatment plan.

Patient Portals

At your first appointment one of your caregivers will help you sign up for your secure patient portal accounts:

Radiation Oncology Patient Portal
Medical Oncology Patient Portal

As a Mosaic Life Care Cancer Care patient, you will have access to two portals — online tools to help you maintain open lines of communication with your care team throughout your treatment. They allow you to send secure messages to caregivers, view and arrange your appointments, check lab results, access your medication lists and update your personal information as needed. You can access these patient portals from your home computer, tablet or smartphone, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
